Ron Hunter is a Lieutenant with the Spartanburg (South Carolina) Fire Department, working out of the Southside station. He has been with the City for 23 years, starting out as a firefighter and advancing to the driver of the Rescue, to shift training coordinator, to the driver of the truck company, to his currently held Lieutenant position.
He is the recipient of the department’s life-saving awards in 1998 and 2005 and was named firefighter of the year in 1997.
