Gasaway Consulting Group, LLC, the parent of company of Situational Awareness Matters has secured a year-long contract to train 600+ oil refinery operators at Syncrude Canada’s Fort McMurray Operations.
The training will take place in 2018 and 2019 and is part of a four-pronged approach to improve operator safety during Periods of High Vulnerability that will include baseline training, virtual reality, hands-on practical sessions and realistic simulations.
“We are so excited to be working with the management and operational teams at Syncrude. Following our site visit and evaluation in January, it was quite evident that our approach to helping workers improve high-risk decision making was going to compliment Syncrude’s objectives for improving operator safety” noted Dr. Richard B. Gasaway, President of Gasaway Consulting Group.
